Its easy to throw some ham or peanut butter between 2 slices of bread and maybe a fresh piece of fruit for your kids lunch and think you’ve got there nutritional needs covered.
But as kids are growing their nutritional needs are stronger than ever and it’s also a good idea to introduce them to foods that you would like to see them eat in their future by choice. It’s a tricky balance, because we all know kids are more than capable of throwing their lunches in the bin and sharing and scoffing their mates chips.
These lunchbox ideas ALL include some superfoods. If you don’t like any of the ideas below, get creative with what your kids do like. Mix a little superfood into a standard dish, bake without gluten flour, throw in some seeds into a recipe or create your own chocolate dishes with raw cacoa (a true superfood). Go wild! Go healthy!

4. Granola bars
A great choice for a snack at any time of the day. These are cheap and easy to make and by making them yourself rather than buying them, you control the goodness!
5. Avocado and bacon sandwich
Still a sandwich and a sandwich with bacon in it! ….but the avocado puts this sandwich into the healthy super stratosphere. The bacon is the ‘icing on the cake’ to ensure they eat it. This recipe isn’t on the site, but make sure you use a good seeded wholewheat bread, 1/2 or 1 rasher of bacon, and ensure the avo is spread thickly on the bread and is slightly salted. My kids are not necessarily massive fans of avos but the bacon pulls them in each time!
