Left over healthy pizza base yummy afternoon snack

Left over healthy pizza base = yummy afternoon snack

When making your super healthy seed based pizza, keep a little of the seed paste to one side and bake it for about 20 minutes each side at a temperature of 370F. Break it up into pieces and use as crackers. Delicious with dips or toppings. One of my fave toppings is simply avocado and tomato seasoned with a little salt and pepper. These crackers, will store for a good few weeks in an airtight container and still remain crispy. Brilliant as an easy go-to snack, mid morning or afternoon. I also take them in a little bag when I go hiking as an easy and nutritionally dense snack to keep me going!

Hemp seeds: One of nature’s perfect foods! A complete protein with a nutritionally perfect balance of essential fats, vitamins and enzymes.

Sunflower seeds: Another nutritional powerhouse. Very high in vitamin E, also magnesium and selenium

Pumpkin seeds:High in magnesium, copper, protein and zinc. It is also a great source of plant based omega 3

Chia seeds: Chia is the Mayan word for strength. Packed with fibre, protein, omega 3 plus manganese, magnesium, phosphorous, zinc, b vitamins

Avocado: With over 20 different vitamins and minerals avocados really do punch above their weight in a nutrient battle. They also have folic acid, iron and magnesium.

Tomato: Also a powerful nutrient dense food and possibly one of my fave fruits. Rich in vitamin A and C plus folic acid it also has additional nutrients such as folic acid, choline, beta carotene, lycopene and lutein. Rich in anti-oxidants.

Hemp seeds: More of a fruit than a seed these little powerhouses have all the benefits of a complete protein for your body, it is an anti-inflammatory, helps burn fat ( yay!!) helps PMS ( double yay) helps hair, nail and skin ( would it be very shallow of me to give a triple yay here?!) and lowers bad cholesterol.

Sunflower seeds: Anti-inflammatory and beneficial to the heart, it lowers cholesterol , calms your nerves, helps in detoxing the body and also fights cancer. Really a great all rounder ( if only it did the washing up as well! Sigh!)

Pumpkin seeds: Great for the immune system and also for diabetes. It’s a great addition to the diet for heart and liver health. The tryptophan can create serotonin which is a great mood enhancer and also converts to melatonin which can help sleep. It’s a great anti-inflammatory and also is good for the heart

Chia seeds: Chia seeds can really help with losing weight ( result!!!!). But on a less shallow base, it’s nutrients can help lower the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes, they are great for bone health and GET THIS all you sporty people out there, chia seeds can improve exercise performance as much as a sports drink. The protein aspect of chia seeds also do that wonderful build and repair of body tissues and the antioxidants will fight those free radicals and essentially cancer.

Avocado: It’s almost an endless list the benefits your body will reap from a little avocado such as an improved immune system, bones, skin and connective tissues, blood clotting, energy, digestive system and blood pressure. Wow, something so readily available, so tasty and so amazingly good for you.

Tomato: the antioxidants make it a great cancer fighting food and with the lycopene and beta carotene it’s especially good for prostate cancer. Tomatoes also can reduce blood pressure and is good for the heart, diabetes, skin and also depression
